Scarisbrick New Road is in a traffic chaos after two cars collided in rainy conditions near to the BP garage.
Traffic is now backed up on the busy main road into Southport and police are trying to ease congestion as quickly as possible.
Drivers are being asked to make alternative arrangements or take different routes home following the smash between two cars.
Kew Roundabout is reportedly moving very slowly.
Nobody is thought to have been seriously injured in the crash but paramedics have been called as a precaution.
