Scarisbrick Hotel Amusement Arcade Planning Enforcement update
Thanks for the response.
Although I do agree that talk is better than war in most circumstances, I do think it’s a bit much for a huge firm like Britannia to hide behind the holiday absence of just one individual. They must have enough staff to deputise in such circumstances. I do also think that the alleged breach of permission seems pretty straightforward re the Amusement Arcade and that Britannia should have been required to address this in writing by a given date or comply.
Will you also be addressing with Britannia the issue of what has been done to the Barons Bar side of the Scarisbrick Hotel which I raised with the planning dept in my previous email?? Could you get the Conservation Officer to report on this and for me to see the report?
You will understand my concern because of the length of time that people in Southport have seen this arcade in action now: they openly voice concern as to whether Sefton Council actually does planning enforcement where big business is concerned and understandably get cross with their councillors about this, especially since this is right at the heart of the town. So I very much hope we get some progress soon.
