Saturday 23rd March is GoOrange Day!

14th March 2019

All around Great Britain, people will be celebrating the work of independent lifeboats, such as ourselves here at Southport Lifeboat. We rely solely on public donations to keep our lifesaving service running all year-round.

Southport Lifeboat is totally independent – no funding is received from the RNLI or other organisations. In fact, one in 5 lifeboat stations in the UK is not part of the RNLI!

Maintaining a lifeboat station, lifeboats, launch vehicles and kit is by no means an easy task, with upkeep costing over £60,000 per year.

So, how can you help?

We are asking you to GoOrange for your local lifeboat. We’re asking as many people as possible to wear something orange and donate a small amount to help spread the word. Donations can be made through our website, in our shop, or visit us at the boathouse.

We also run a variety of fund-raising events throughout the year and we are always in need of extra volunteers. If you have an hour free and are interested in supporting us at one of these events, please email info@southport-lifeboat.org.uk or message us directly.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters. Without your support we would be unable to keep Southport Lifeboat afloat!
