The Birkdale branch of Santander will close for the final time on the 19th November at 4pm.
Customers will have to go to Formby, Churchtown or Southport (Central)to find their nearest Santander.
Birkdale resident Gary Ellis quoted:
“We have already lost bank branches in the village.
“I am gutted. I deliberately chose to bank with Santander as it is within walking distance of my flat and its free to park.
“I was told that the branch leases the building adjoining the former Barclays Bank, which is deemed unsafe.
“On the plus side it may make a good micro pub establishment”
