Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a burglary at Croston Sports Club.

The incident happened sometime between midnight and 1.30am on Tuesday 28 July, at the club on Westhead Road.

It is thought that the offenders gained access to the premises by forcing open a rear door by the changing rooms. Once inside a safe was taken which contained around £950 cash.

The offenders are then believed to have left via a side door, onto the patio area overlooking the cricket pitch and used a wheelie bin from a neighbouring property to transport the safe to a car waiting by the Londis Store further down the road.

PC 6829 Nick Steenbergen of Chorley Police said: “I would urge anyone in the area who saw any suspicious activity around the time of the incident to get in touch. Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting log number 0637 of July 28th.”

Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
