Run to raise cash for Liverpool’s new cancer hospital

Lynne Doyle from Formby is taking part in the 2017 Btr Tour of Merseyside Challenge to raise vital funds in support of the Clatterbridge appeal to help build a new specialist cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool.

Lynne who works for local pension services provider, MyCSP, is hoping to raise around £1000. MyCSP has already donated £250 from its Community Fund in support of Lynne and her chosen cause.

The Btr Tour of Merseyside consists of six races over seven days totalling 52 miles, starting on Sunday 2nd July with the Southport half marathon and finishing on Saturday 8th July with a 12 mile run along the north Wirral coast line. In between, the tour will see Lynne take on a six mile run over track, beach, grass and woodland, 10 miles along the Sustrans Cycle Trail, and a six mile cross country at Stadt Moers Park.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre which is one of the largest networked cancer centres in the UK.

Lynne Doyle; said: “Having recently had first-hand experience of the amazing care and support the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre offers, the new hospital will allow critical Cancer services to be improved and expanded for people from Merseyside, Cheshire and surrounding areas. Therefore, I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible in support of this great cause and would like to thank MyCSP for their generous donation.”

David Boardman, communications director, MyCSP, said: “We all wish Lynne the best of luck with the gruelling seven day challenge and fundraising for such a wonderful cause that makes a real difference to people’s lives in Merseyside and the surrounding areas.”

The MyCSP Community Fund was launched in September 2015 to support local causes and has so far donated over £26,000 to 43 different fundraising campaigns.
