The course today was part of the BTEC Extended Diploma delivered through Rugby Football Union national governing body.
Thus making the students more employable and providing them with the necessary experience to lead sports activities.
This course aims to develop students as confident, capable rugby union leaders but also to have a community delivery element to it as well.
Now the students have completed the course they will be working with local schools or within college to:
*Organise a Level 1 School Games Tag Rugby intra school festival
*Organise a primary school Tag Rugby festival at your local rugby KGV college
*Support the coaching of younger rugby teams at your school
*Provide coaching for primary school pupils
*Run informal playground tag/touch rugby at lunchtime at KGV college
The ethos and Core Values of rugby union learned as a part of this course aid the development of confident, capable young people who are able to make a positive contribution to school life.
From this there will be two Rugby ambassadors who will be appointed as having responsibility for the delivery of Enrichment Rugby across the college.
