Ross Noble Contemporary And Award Winning Comedian At LOL Comedy Southport

Gavin Webster is an award winning act and legendary, long standing, influential yet unpredictable comedian from the North East of England.

He’s been going for almost 25 years now! After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993 (on the same bill as Ross Noble!) he’s done about seven thousand gigs performing all over the world including Abu Dhabi, Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Singapore & Malaysia. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country.

Gavin has also supported some of the biggest household names on tour including Kevin Bridges & Alexi Sayle.

He has also become a cult hero at the Edinburgh Fringe having performed an amazing ten solos shows over his career (see below). Not content with that Gavin has other talents including a skill for voiceover as he was once the voice of the DFDS Ferries advert campaign. His television work includes Never Mind The Buzzcocks, The Stand-up Show, Does Doug Know, Take The Mike, The Regionnaires, The Eleven O Clock show, The Comedy Store, Comedy Blue and The World Stand Up Tour (Channel 9 Australia, Comedy Central USA). He wrote and played in Walk on the Wild Side in 2009 and 2010.

In 2011 he voiced Sid the Sexist for Channel 4’s series Blaps adapting Viz. His 2011 Edinburgh Fringe show, All Young People are Cunts was positively reviewed by the British Comedy Guide. He previously played Edinburgh in 2003, 2008 and 2009.

He had a residency at The Stand Comedy Club in Newcastle every Sunday called ‘Gavin Webster’s Northumbrian Assembly’. In January 2014, this was relaunched as the monthly “Gavin Webster Comedy Show”, which came to an end in June 2014.

In 2012 he returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with a new stand-up show, Bill Hicks Wasn’t Very Good. His 2014 Edinburgh show was called “Controversial Title in Order to Sell Tickets” whilst his 2016 show was entitled “Jesus Christ Is A Window Cleaner Now”.

Dan Nightingale mixes fiendishly accurate observations with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines, his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, poignant and exciting; sometimes ridiculous… but always hilarious. Dan was named Best MC at the UK Comedy Awards 2015, and was nominated Best Act at the recent Midlands Comedy Awards 2016. He has also appeared on John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky TV) and supported Ross Noble’s on his UK tour. He’s exciting, spontaneous, creative, a true original and most of all he’s funny, funny, funny. Unfazed by offers of fame and fortune he’s one of the best and the most admired comics on the international circuit. So come and see comedy’s best kept secrets!

Tom Taylor is somewhat of a one-off phenomenon on the comedy circuit with a brand of musical comedy that is smart and silly in equal measure. His style is certainly unique and he reels off an impressive stock of quirky, and very funny, musical one-liners.

Damion Larkin will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect. There are no genuine comparisons to this man. He is a versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more.

“Industrious in rotating his material…which is warmly and intelligently told”  Chortle

“One of the country’s top new acts” BBC (this was years ago so now he’s just one of the country’s comedians! haha)
