A person has been hit by a train near to Birkdale.
Police have closed off a number of roads around Birkdale including Crescent Road level crossing.
OTS understands an unidentified person was hit by a Merseyrail service travelling out of Southport.
The condition of the victim is currently unknown.
A Merseyrail spokesperson confirmed “Due to a person being struck by a train, services are starting & terminating at Formby.
“Rail replacement buses are on route but not yet in operation.”
Merseyside Police have told drivers to avoid the area with traffic diverted along Trafalgar Road.
