Ricoh Women’s Open 2014 Royal Birkdale Southport ‘Local Caddies’

There is a few local faces to look out for on BBC television over the next three days at Royal Birkdale.

Caddies Steve Bushell who is on the bag of England’s Florentyna Parker, who recently won the Italian Open, and Ian Rodwell who’s on the bag of Dori Carter

Biography Parker, Florentyna (ENG)

•In 2013, Florentyna played in 18 tournaments and recorded two top 10 finishes as follows: T6th at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open and T7th at the Deloitte Ladies Open. She posted two further top 20s: T12th at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Australian Open and T16th at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open presented by Respect.
•In 2012, played in 18 tournaments and posted 3 top 10s: T2nd at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, 3rd at the China Suzhou Taihu Open and 10th at Deloitte Ladies Open. Season’s earnings: €101,237.47 (15th).
•In 2011, Florentyna played in 24 LET events and had three top-ten finishes including a tie for second at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. Finished 7th at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open and tied for 9th place at the Omega Dubai Ladies Open.
•In 2010, Florentyna followed her impressive rookie season by picking up her first win at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open with a two shot victory over Krystle Caithness. With a further seven top ten finishes Florentyna finished 11th on the Henderson Money List.
•In 2009, Florentyna made a spectacular start to life as a professional golfer. In her rookie year, she recorded two top ten finishes with her season best a tie for 2nd at the AIB Ladies Irish Open, supported by Ireland, at Portmarnock Links. She also tied for 5th at the Portugal Ladies Open. She was second in the race for the Ryder Cup Wales Rookie of the Year with earnings of €64,915.00 and was 24th on the Henderson Money List having played in 18 events.

2nd Portuguese Amateur. Finalist English Women’s Match play 2008. 3rd English Stroke play 2008 Represented GB&I at the 2008 Curtis Cup at St Andrews. Turned professional with a handicap of +4.4.


Born in Henstedt, Germany and lives in Gut Waldhof. Parents are English. Speaks English and German fluently. Attended school in Germany and after leaving spent one year playing full time amateur golf in 2008. Coached by father Tim Parker, the professional at St. Dionys Golf Club in Germany. Brother Ben Parker is a professional golfer on the Challenge Tour. Plays at Waldhof GC in Germany and Royal Birkdale in England. Represents Golf Lounge Hamburg and England. Hobbies include tennis, shopping and reading.

Dori Carter

Dori started playing golf at age 8. She credits her parents as the people who influenced her career the most. Some of Dori’s hobbies include playing the guitar and watching college sports and movies.


In 2011, best finish was a tie for 47 at the Avnet LPGA Classic. In 2010, turned professional in January; won the 2010 Pennsylvania Classic on the Symetra Tour – The Road to the LPGA.


Carter competed in the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open Championship as an amateur and was the individual and team winner of the 2009 USGA State Team Championship. At the University of Mississippi, Carter was a two-time All-SEC First-Team selection (2008, 2009), 2009 Golfweek All-American and 2008 NCAA All-American.
