Reward offered after thieves net 100 Ghost koi carp from Southbank Road Southport

Thieves have netted themselves a small fortune after raiding a pond in a rear back garden in Southbank Road, Southport.

Thieves climbed over two wooden fences to get into the rear yard of the house before netting the fish. They came prepared with nets and buckets.

They ripped down the CCTV in the rear yard and garden before netting the fish.  The fish size were between 6- 8 inches and was worth a total of £1,500

A number of fish died during the incident.

This may have been an easy catch for the thieves but other koi carp owners are being warned to keep a close watch on their ponds and check their insurance policies.

The incident happened between 2am – 5am this morning.
