Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information leading to the arrest of fugitive Alan Brogan.

Brogan, 30, absconded from Kirkham open prison on 7 October last year where he was serving a sentence for three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of wounding with intent and for robbery.

In September of 2008 Brogan and another man went on a rampage in Preston were they both stormed their way into houses armed with axes and knives, attacking and assaulting the occupants.

In July the following year he was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for his offences, but was given a further eight year sentence in 2010 to run alongside his original order for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Brogan.

Gary Murray, North West Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “Brogan has been on the run for over four months and he must be located to serve the rest of his long sentence.

The public is advised not to approach him if they see him, and in an emergency always call the police, but if you want to remain anonymous and know of his whereabouts, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org. I can assure you nobody will know you contacted us.”

Only information coming via the anonymous 0800 555 111 number or online form at crimestoppers-uk.org will qualify for a reward.
