Resort schools on high alert after ‘stranger danger’ cab driver targets schoolgirl

Schools in Southport are on high alert after a man reportedly approached a schoolgirl in a frightening manner during her evening paper round yesterday.

A warning over stranger danger has been issued to parents across the town after a young girl was approached by a balding man in his forties who offered to help her with her paper round yesterday afternoon.

The male in question was so intimidating the girl fled the scene and ran home.

The student, who goes to Meols Cop High, was approached by the male after he stopped his black saloon taxi.

He is described as being Asian, around 40 years old, clean shaven and balding. The taxi company the driver belongs to have also been informed and have offered to share any details with police officers.
