Resort police called to help with Crosby Beach ‘WWII bomb’

By On The Spot News15th October 2020

Police officers in Southport are currently helping colleagues in nearby Crosby after a bomb scare on the beach.

It’s understood that it could potentially be an unexploaded piece of World War Two Ordinance although this has not been confirmed.

Police have closed off a large section of Crosby Beach around the Burbo Bank area of the coastline.

Bomb disposal units are currently on scene and officers from across Merseyside, including Southport, have been mobilised.
