Residents furious at the news 200 new homes to be built on Southport greenbelt.

Furious residents in Crossens have been told that 200 new homes will be built on greenbelt land.

Bankfield Road has long been a prime spot for developers and now residents in the area have been given notice that developers would like at least 200 homes built on farmland in the area.

A worried resident, told OTS News: “All my local neighbours received a notice of planning permission for the ‘bankfield road development’ of 200 homes this morning.

“we all massively oppose it due to it being on greenbelt land and ruining the character of the area, along with overloading an already lack of amenities, doctors, schools and more.

“It will also create unwanted/unnecessary car journeys which the government is supposed to be trying to reduce.”
