Report attempted burglaries to the police

Police are aware from posts on other social media pages of attempted burglaries in the Banastre Road/Warwick Street areas of Eastbourne Road and Cemetery Road in Southport. Posts state that one or two men were seen trying shed doors and patio doors between the hours of 03:00AM – 05:00AM Saturday night and Sunday night. We have been unable to find any reports of these incidents to the police at this time.

The weather has been warm, but please ensure that doors and windows are closed and fully secure before you go to bed every night. Window and door alarms are a cheap way to deter thieves. Patio doors can be secured with the patio locks that link through door handles.

Many people seem to have purchased new bikes recently. Ensure that these are chained up inside sheds and that sheds are locked and alarmed if possible. You can register frame numbers of new bikes online yourself at https://crowd.in/TdjA2y
