The website Best for Britain — which uses polling stats to recommend who Remainers should back in the election — has chosen LibDem John Wright as the best candidate to stop Brexit and get rid of Southport’s Hard Brexit Tory MP.
Mr Wright has consistently campaigned for a second referendum and to give people the final say on Boris Johnson’s deal.
He said: “I’m really happy Best for Britain is backing me. The campaign to keep us in the EU has been a long, hard one for me since 24th June 2016 — when Jeremy Corbyn demanded immediately triggering Article 50.
“Frankly, I think voters should back the candidates they feel truly shares their beliefs.
“I’m a committed Remainer. There’s a lot that I want to do for people in Southport. By stopping Brexit, we can invest in our schools and hospitals, as well as figure out how we save our planet from climate change.”
