Rail bosses reach landmark deal

11th September 2018

A landmark deal has been struck
which should clear the way for a second staff member to be employed on board the new Merseyrail trains – effectively bringing to an end the long running guards dispute.

The move has been welcomed by both the rail company and union members. Merseyrail, the RMT Union and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, issued a joint statement last Friday which they say has been achieved through a “compromise on all sides.”
