A horrific dog attack on Formby dunes has sparked a region wide hunt for a danger dog and its owner.
A man wearing a grey t shirt and jean shorts has been filmed after his dog, believed to be a type of mastiff, went off lead and attached two smaller dogs on the dunes near to Formby Nature Reserve.
The man took his dog away and ran off without exchanging details and refused to cooperate when approached.
Both smaller dogs are now being treated for what are believed to be potentially life threatening injuries.
Police have been informed and are investigating. Anyone with any information should call 101 immediately.
