Pupils are seeing stars after space project

21st March 2018

PUPILS at a Formby school became space explorers on a top secret mission for just one day.

TSB chief executive Dr Paul Pester, who is also a theoretical physicist, and space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, visited St Luke’s Church of England Primary School last Thursday, after the school won a competition to take part in special workshops to help bring the wonders of the universe to life for year five pupils.

The class spent the day designing rockets getting set for lift-off on a top secret mission to colonise Mars in a special workshop, Let’s Build a Rocket, which is the result of a collaboration between Professor Stephen Hawking’s daughter Lucy Hawking, TSB and Curved House Kids, a company specialising in educational materials for young people.
