37 year old Prince hit 230 including 28×4’s & 2×6’s in almost eight hours at the crease as table toppers Lancashire made an imposing 551, with Arron Lilley hitting his highest first class score with a valuable 63, whilst Wigan’s Matt Critchley took 3-50 and Tom Taylor 4-113.

Lancashire began the day 22 runs adrift of Derbyshire on 348-4 but lost Lytham’s Alex Davies (37) early on, before Prince was Joined by Jordan Clark (39) and Lilley (63), who both helped the left handed South African build the platform that the leaders need to push for victory on the last day..

Derbyshire began their second innings 181 runs behind and despite losing an early wicket made a decent start as Ben Slater (58) and Chesney Hughes (41) put 98 on for the second wicket, however both batsmen fell in the final two overs of the day to leave Derbyshire 58 runs adrift on 123-3, setting up a fascinating final day at Trafalgar Road.
