Southport on a high

Southport go into the clash with Barnet full of confidence after extending their unbeaten run to three matches.

A tough start to the season saw the Sandgrounders lose their opening two fixtures before winning one and drawing two of their last three matches, most recently at AFC Telford on Bank Holiday Monday.

New signing Johnny Gorman could keep his place after netting a free-kick on his first start following his release from Leyton Orient at the end of last season.

In-form summer arrival Richard Brodie should lead the line again, having scored three goals in his last two appearances.

Martin Allen lauded the strength in depth of his Barnet squad following the 4-0 win over Dartford.

Allen made three changes from the win at Nuneaton two days earlier and he may rotate again for the trip to Southport due to the quality in numbers and quick fixture turnaround.

Mauro Vilhete and Elliot Johnson missed out on the squad which won on Monday and they could return to action.

Hat-trick hero Lee Cook, who bagged within three minutes of coming on to the pitch in the second half, could be given a starting berth.
