Preston New Road has been completely closed off following a serious car accident this morning.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the busy main road just before 8am following a reported three car collision near to the Fairhaven Road roundabout.
Two fire crews and multiple police units were rushed to the scene and have completely closed off the road in both directions.
OTS understands that Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service removed the roof from one of the vehicles to extract a passenger.
No-one was seriously injured in the crash but minor injuries were reported.
Traffic is at a near standstill in Churchtown as a result.
An investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
