Preston New Road has been completely closed off following a serious car accident this morning.
Police and fire crews were called to the busy main road just before 8am following a reported three car collision near to the Tesco Petrol station.
Two fire crews and multiple police units were rushed to the scene and have completely closed off the road in both directions.
OTS understands from witnesses nearby that fire crews had to cut off the doors of one of the vehicles in order to reach a male motorist to treat them for injuries.
Traffic is being redirected via Balmoral Drive and Lexton Drive.
Traffic is at a near standstill in Churchtown as a result.
An investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
