Poundworld shuts for the final time

Poundworld stores in the town have closed for the final time today.

Both outlets at Central 12 shopping centre and on Chapel Street have shut with the loss of 20 jobs.

The struggling discount retailer closed their Central 12 site, with the loss of seven jobs, while thirteen staff have been left penniless on Chapel Street

The Administrators of Poundworld, Deloitte, said the closures will not have an impact on the selling of the business with discussions continuing with interested parties.

In June the discount chain failed to find a buyer and it went into administration.
