Merseyside Police were called to London Street shortly after 11.30am following a 999 call, Thursday February 11 2016.
A pensioner called the police after she reported two men following her from from Chapel Street and down London Street. The distressed lady had taken shelter inside the Yorkshire building society and waited for police to arrive.
Police arrived and within five minutes of the call. No arrests were made and a police investigation is ongoing.
