Emergency services have rushed to Liverpool Road this morning after reports a child was struck by a car.
The incident happened at the busy junction with Carr Lane and Windy Harbour Road just before 8.30 am this morning.
Witnesses say a car may have struck a Birkdale High schoolboy but this has been unconfirmed.
Paramedics were also called and the road has been partially closed off while emergency services deal with the incident.
