Southport residents may remember an incident where youths were reported to have been throwing items at Swans in Botanic gardens a few weeks ago

On Wednesday 7th Oct a 13 year old boy from Southport was interviewed over this incident at Southport police station. He admitted responsibility to wounding a wild animal and committing a public order offence, after being abusive to a member of the public who challenged his behaviour.

The boy has been referred to the Youth Offending Team over the incident.

Investigations continue into the incident and we intend to take action against the others involved.

Patrols of our local parks continue, to address other incidents of anti-social behaviour and wildlife crime. One of these patrols of Hesketh Park resulted in another teenaged boy being found in possession of a small amount of cannabis recently. This was resulted by Community Resolution.

An incident reported yesterday, (Wednesday 7th Oct) of children in school uniform throwing eggs at properties has been dealt with by the school, after the children responsible were identified.
