Forensic officers are scouting Back Bath Street this afternoon following a serious incident in the early hours of this morning.
Scientific support police officers have cordoned off a section of Back Bath Street near to Neville Street.
Officers are focussing their attentions on a specific area of land to the rear service entrance of a cafe and chip shop.
An update from Merseyside Police into the circumstances surrounding the incident is expected shortly.
