Police feed Southport woman in her hour of need.

Among the jobs police attended in Southport today (Wednesday 28th March) was a concern for safety after a female became distressed for a number of reasons, including a delay in a benefit payment that left her with no money and no food at home.

Officers on response patrol were able to calm the lady down and arrange for her to get short term medical help from North West Ambulance Service.

They arranged a new appointment to get the benefit claim re-started and PCSO’s, with the help of the good people at Shoreline Church Food Bank, were able to collect an emergency food parcel and deliver it round, to help until things are back on track again.

Community support from emergency services and a local charity working together.
