    Man injured in RTC at Birkdale Aldi

    Police have taken over a Birkdale supermarket car park this afternoon after a man was injured in a road traffic collision.

    The man suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

    OTS News understands officers from Merseyside Police were called to the Aldi Birkdale superstore on Liverpool Road just after 1.30pm today.

    At least four police cars were called to the scene at the entrance to the Liverpool Road car park.

    Officers quickly secured a corner of the supermarket car park and asked some shoppers to remain in their vehicles while dealing with the incident.

    A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Birkdale earlier today, Wednesday 13 December.

    “At around 2.30pm, it was reported that a car and a man aged in his 50s had been involved in a collision on Liverpool Road.

    “The driver stopped at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

    OTS News have approached Merseyside Police for comment.
