Police cordon in place after house blaze in Southport

Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to an address in Denbigh Avenue, Southport  yesterday evening following a report of a house fire, Monday 25 June 2018.

It is understood that a fire was started in the downstairs of the property before quickly spreading.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze and paramedics treated a number of occupants at the scene before transferring them to hospital.

Merseyside Police are expected to release a statement on the incident later today, while forensics teams are still assessing the home to find the incendiary which started the blaze.
