Police car involved in crash in Birkdale

A police car has been involved in an unfortunate collision with a civilian car believed to be carrying two nurses, Friday 24 April.

The collision happened at the junction of the Crown Pub on Liverpool Road in Birkdale just after 11am.

The police car is thought to have been responding to an emergency call when the accident happened and collided with a Citroen.

There are not thought to have been any serious injuries and an investigation is now underway.

An official update from Merseyside Police is expected shortly.
