POLICE ARREST 15 PEOPLE IN DAWN RAIDS ACROSS MERSEYSIDE

Officers from the force’s Matrix Serious Organised Crime (MSOC) team have given a number of suspected criminals an early morning wake up call today (Thursday, 16 April), after 17 warrants were executed across the county. 

 

Officers visited properties in Old Swan, Liverpool city centre and Huyton as part of a 12-month long operation into tackling serious and organised crime.

 

This morning 15 people have been arrested on suspicionfor a range of offences including drug supply . Searches of all the properties are on-going.

 

Detective Supt Chris Green, from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime team, said: “This morning’s activity demonstrates our continued commitment to fighting serious and organised crime within these communities.

 

“This operation was carried out following an extensive policing operation and also in response to concerns raised by the local community.”
Detective Superintendent Green, added: “We are intent on arresting those who are involved in serious and organised crime and responsible for dealing in controlled drugs. Today’s arrests should help significantly reduce drugs activity and associated crime in these areas, improve the quality of life in our neighbourhoods and can only serve to make our communities stronger.
