POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man missing from home in Burscough.

Gilbert Tootle, 56, was last seen on Wednesday 17 December at a garage on, Briars Lane, Burscough at around 10.20am.

Earlier that day it is believed that he left his family home but has not made contact with them since.

He is described as white, around 5ft 6 tall, of a stocky build with short dark brown hair and blue eyes. He is usually clean shaven, talks with a Liverpool accent and wears charity wristbands such as Help for Heroes.

He was possibly wearing dark jeans, a dark coat and work boots.

PC Karen Holmes of Skelmersdale Police said: “Gilbert has been missing for more than two days now and his family and friends are becoming concerned about where he may be. I would urge anyone who may have seen him to get in touch or if he sees this appeal, please make contact with your family or with police to let us know that you are ok.”
