Police appeal for information after burglary at Sussex Road hairdressers

Police are appealing for information following a burglary and an attempted burglary at a barbershop and a hairdressers in Southport on Wednesday 14 April and in the early hours of Thursday 15 April.

At around 2.45am on Thursday, Police received a report that Artizan Hair on Sussex Road, Southport had been burgled.

Nothing was reported stolen from the premises but the glass door to the shop was smashed, causing significant damage.

A further burglary was also reported at the Barbershop Lounge on Hart Street, Southport, which is believed to have occurred at between 6.30pm on Wednesday 14 April and 7.30am on Thursday 15 April.

Around £150 cash was reported stolen and the front door of the premises was smashed.

Forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing and officers would urge anyone who may have any information on either incident to come forward.

Local Policing Sergeant Rick Whincup: said: “Burglaries and attempted burglaries on businesses are far from victimless crimes and have a devastating impact on our communities. We will do all we can to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“We would appeal to anyone who has any information about either of these incidents who or saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us at they may have information which is vital to our investigations.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area who may have mobile phone or dash cam footage to contact us as they may be able to assist with our enquiries.”
