Petition against Southport Fire & Ambulance Station new building

Residents in Sandown Court, Southport, have got together and signed a petition. Residents on the lower floors feel that their privacy may be invaded once the new fire station is up and running.

The newly built gymnasium on the first floor is directly opposite Sandown   Court.  Fire and Ambulance staff using the gym and balcony can look directly into the living rooms on Sandown Court opposite  .

Residents are proposing a screen being put up or the glass changed for privacy.

A fire officer from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service met with residents at 3:30pm this afternoon (Wednesday 12th June 2013) to discuss proposals.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service declined to comment on the matter at this early stage.
