Pensioners making a dash for the popular X2 bus this morning after doing their weekly shop in Morrisons have been practically forced to swim to their stop.
Heavy rain overnight created a makeshift lagoon on Garrick Parade as storm drains failed to cope with the the deluge of rain water.
The stop is popular with elderly Southport residents returning from the nearby Morrisons supermarket laden with shopping bags.
The water build up has been reported to United Utilities who are now working on removing the excess water
