Pensioner Cut Free from Southport Car Crash 

Emergency services were called to Park Crescent, Southport shortly after 3pm following reports of road traffic accident, Saturday 20 August 2016.

Members of the public told our reporter that an elderly driver lost control of his vehicle after having a suspected heart attack at the wheel, the vehicle hit street signs before crashing into gate post.

The man was cut free from his vehicle and transferred to hospital.

Local diversions were put in place whilst emergency services carried out further investigations.
