Pedestrian killed in Town Lane RTC

Emergency services have closed off Town Lane after a pedestrian was knocked down and killed by a car.

Paramedics and doctors from Southport hospital ran to the aid of the victim but OTS understands that sadly they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was crossing near to the junction with Janes Brook and was struck down in the middle of the carriageway.

An investigation into the accident is now underway.
