 One man slashed with knife and two men arrested following aggravated burglary in Southport.

Merseyside Police has arrested two men following an assault in a flat in Southport yesterday (Tuesday, 1 August 2017).

Officers were called at 8.40pm to a car park on Derby Road to a report a man had sustained a slash wound to his leg, and cuts and bruises to the face after two men forced entry to a flat in Church Street. The victim, aged 25, left the scene and made his way to Derby Road on foot.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

A 48-year-old man from Southport and a 40-year-old man from Bootle have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and taken to a police station in Merseyside to be interviewed.
