Yesterday, three times British Champion, European Team Champion and World Bronze medallist, Dan Purvis met with Countrywide UPVC and Total Glass to accept a new front door on behalf of his home club Southport YMCA Gymnastics Club.

Mike Campbell, director of Countrywide UPVC initiated this meeting by proposing to have his company install a new door free of charge.  Mike also sourced Total Glass who kindly donated the new aluminium framed front door worth over £2,000.  The door was in need of replacement and to have it replaced absolutely free of charge by Total Glass and Countrywide UPVC is great for the Gymnastics Club.  We continually run fundraising projects and ask for as much help from the parents of our members in order to keep the costs of running the club as low as possible in order to give the best possible value for money to our 1070 paying members.

Mike Campbell is Dad to two of our young members Isobel and Georjia and felt that he could contribute to the on-going improvement to the facilities that the Gym Club offers.  In August, there will be an extension to the gym club reception area to allow more seats and comfort to those parents waiting for their children and for the first time ever we will have a viewing gallery so that parents and siblings can watch the gymnastics activities.  Having the old door replaced is a great start to the improvements that are coming in the next two months.
