OAP driver spars with supermarket wall

An old age pensioner has lost control of his car and crashed into a supermarket shop front this afternoon.

An elderly male driver lost control of his Volkswagen while approaching the entrance to Spar store in Birkdale.

Police and emergency services were called to the supermarket just before 4pm and assessed the driver for injuries.

Specialist recovery vehicles have been called to help remove the car from a fence.
