No white Christmas for Southport this year

14th December 2016

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Dec 2016 to Tuesday 27 Dec 2016:

Mainly dry through Sunday and Monday with high pressure centred over southern UK. Rather cloudy, but some sunshine is possible, particularly across central parts.

Rain developing for western Northern Ireland and Scotland, perhaps persistent over high ground.

Windy in the north on Sunday with local gales possible. Temperatures generally near normal, with overnight frosts where the cloud breaks.

There is a large degree of uncertainty as we head towards the Christmas period, however, high pressure currently looks more likely to dominate leading to drier weather, particularly in the south-east, but still rather cloudy with some fog patches at times.

More unsettled conditions are most probable in the north-west, where it’ll be windy at times. Temperatures generally near normal, with some frosts possible, but perhaps mild at times in the north-west.
