As from January 2015 Sefton Council will be back in charge of the indoor market stalls in Southport Market. Sefton want to change the way traders in the market display some of their stock.

Mr Passi has been told by Sefton he is not allowed to hang clothes as a way to display his stock.

Stall owner Mr Passi said

“The council recently approached me and said that they will be running the market again as from January and that I would not be  allowed to display my quality clothing to the public.

Sefton council fails to see that we need to make a living and not just pay the rent, I’m just show casing my stock”.

We asked Maurine (55) who is a regular Southport indoor market shopper on what she thought on the situation, she replied

“I think that is ridiculous, the man is trying to earn a living how can the council dictate how someone has to display their stock.

It’s also a market, it adds to the market feel”.

Do you think Sefton Council should be allowing Mr Passi to hang his stock for display in January?
