NHS worker’s car damaged in hit-and-run on Hawkshead Street

5th July 2020

A speeding motorist has decimated an NHS worker’s car wing mirror on Hawkshead Street this afternoon.

The force of the impact destroyed wing mirrors on a number of cars with one damaged beyond repair.

Resident and NHS worker Natalie Barnes was shocked to discover the extent of the damage to her car and believes the speeding driver who caused it could have potentially risked causing serious bodily harm.

Natalie said “I imagine you didn’t stop because you couldn’t be bothered or thought it wouldn’t cost much to fix so why not let someone else pay for your mistake.

“I’ve worked endlessly throughout lockdown for the NHS so thankfully I have had a wage coming in.

“I hope you don’t find yourself in a similar position in the future.

“I’m certain the speed it must’ve taken would exterminate life.”
