New Face For New Generation Southport Law Firm

Magnus Legal is the new face of Bromiley Holcroft Solicitors, an independent family run solicitors firm that has been based in Southport for 25 years.

The business was set up by Southport resident Martin Holcroft in 1988 when it was just him in a single office in Lytham St Annes. In 1991 Martin moved the business back to his home town of Southport.

Bromiley Holcroft built up a reputation as one of the few ‘good guys’ in the personal injury world looking after seriously injured clients, particularly motorcyclists.

At its peak Bromiley Holcroft dealt with over 300 cases per month employing over 60 local people.

The recent and future changes to the law to try and save insurance companies money by clamping down on fraudulent personal injury claims means that many genuine personal injury solicitors are also likely to be a thing of the past.

But the Southport family business is not giving up. Emma and John, the next generation in the Holcroft family have stepped up with their own fresh approach, paving the way for the future of the business.

Magnus Legal are now offering clients the full range of legal services.

Martin: “I have got to the age where I want to take more of a back seat.  My children have always worked in the firm and I am pleased that they see it as their future and want to carry it on. They are young, they have the energy and determination and new and modern ideas.”

It is rare for businesses to be kept in families nowadays, particularly in the legal sector. Although Martin is still in the background providing his advice and experience, Emma and John are taking the reigns and taking the business to new heights.

Emma: “We have always been run more as a business than a traditional old fashioned solicitor’s practice and we are bringing this approach to all areas of law. We know that people don’t want to have to use a solicitor but when they do, they expect a proper thorough service and like every other service now, they want the matter to be dealt with efficiently, want to know exactly what it is going to cost, they want it to be convenient and to be communicated with all the way through. These are areas that many traditional solicitors lack in but it is what we are homing in on”.

John: “It is a big challenge to take on but there is a lot of experience in the business. Mixed with our own modern approach, use of technology and strong customer focus we are excited to see what the future holds”
