Today marks the start of National Adoption Week (3-9 November) and this year’s theme is ‘Celebrating Siblings’. In Sefton we need permanent, loving homes for sibling groups currently in our care. National Adoption Week gave us the perfect excuse to have a catch up with Julie and Chris, a couple who adopted two sisters with us in 2012.

If the story of Julie and Chris has inspired you to think about adoption (or fostering), come along to our Information Session, 12 November (see below).

At Sefton Fostering and Adoption Services, we recruit foster carers and adoptive parents for the growing numbers of children and young people in Sefton who are in need of a stable and loving home.

We offer:

  • support
  • guidance
  • training to families that foster or adopt

Please visit our dedicated fostering and adoption websites to find out more and start your journey to becoming a foster carer or adoptive parent.

We are looking for foster carers for the growing number of children in Sefton who need a stable, loving home. If you are thinking about becoming a foster carer, do not hesitate to register your interest using our easy online form.

As a foster carer we offer you guidance, support, comprehensive training and an allowance to cover the costs of caring for the child or young person.

You could be a brilliant foster carer but there are a lot of myths and misinformation about what fostering is or who can and can not foster, do not let this put you off possibly the most rewarding life choice you will make. You can find answers to any question by visiting the Sefton Fostering website.

Information Sessions

Our next information session takes place Wed 12th November, 6.30pm- Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, Waterloo, L22 1RR.

It’s a great chance to meet our expert team, brilliant foster carers and adoptive parents to give you the inside track on what it is like to foster and adopt children and young people, such as Lilly and Lewis. No tickets required, just drop in on the night.
