Music Festival Oaklea Barns, Lydiate 23rd September 2018

26th March 2018

The Learning Rooms at Four Seasons.

We are situated within Four Seasons garden centre in Southport and provide a day service for adults with Learning difficulties, disabilities and additional needs. We are a non profit, CIC organisation run by Ruth Wareing. We currently have a client base of 42 with 10 members of staff. Ages of our clients vary from 18 – 65 years old, we are a very diverse group!

We have a café with garden and small animal section, florist and gift shop open to the public and we support our service users to run these as their own business. On the premises we deliver tailor made courses appropriate to individual interests and ability levels, including training in floristry, horticulture, small animal care, hair dressing, IT work experience, catering and hospitality and customer service. We also have a second chance charity shop staffed by volunteers and clients – we are always looking for new volunteers!

We run sessions in signing and also offer arts and crafts and sports. Photography and pottery are firm favourites, and for the budding journalists out there we are always looking for people to help out designing, researching, writing and publishing our monthly newsletter. Off the premises we also have an allotment.

Our provision is fully inclusive and support is tailored around individual needs and requirements. We are a fully inclusive organisation and respect and celebrate all cultural and religious backgrounds.

We provide a safe and varied work environment with close links to the local community.

Who we are – What we do

We have decided to put together a music festival for not only our clients, but all those who live with a disability from the North West of England. The festival will enable clients to access the music festival environment as you or I would, in a safe and supported environment. Giving them the independence and freedom to relax and have a good time.

This is first of what we hope will become an annual event and grow from strength to strength. There will be 500 tickets available for sale in this our first year.

D Fest will be held in the grounds of Oaklea Barn Lydiate, a beautiful location with room for expansion once the festival is established. Oaklea Barn provides the ideal venue, with its own bar and purpose built facilities which will lend itself to our event.

Our headline band is UK Bjorn who are a successful Abba Tribute band. They will be supported by talented local groups and solo artists covering a wide genre of music. The Gates open at 1.30pm the bands will start at 2.30pm and finish at 9.30pm.

D Fest is committed to working with the local community to deliver a true festival experience to the client group who would not necessarily be able to attend this type of event. The event will be non-profit making, with any profits we do make being used to fund next year’s festival. We will be working in close affiliation with the Rotary Club.

What’s in it for a Sponsor?

Becoming a sponsor of D Fest provides an ideal opportunity to become a partner in a unique event that supports the adults with learning disabilities and additional needs both in the local community and across the North West. Any sponsor for any amount of money is contributing to the success of the festival. We want to become a sustainable event and create long lasting, trusted relationships with brands and businesses. We are offering a wide range of sponsorship opportunities to cater for all businesses, large and small.
