MP Damien Moore visits Christ the King High School

On Friday 17th November, Damien visited Christ the King Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre in Southport. The voluntary-aided mixed 11-18 school is performing well despite its recent Ofsted report requiring improvements to be made. In 2017, 55% of students gained 5 A*-C GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths, well above the national average of 39%. During Damien’s visit to Christ the King, he met with the Headteacher, James Lancaster, and had a tour of the school’s premises and facilities, and had the opportunity to speak with pupils in class and those taking part in the NCS programme.
